Beguine
Beguine is a dance similar to the foxtrot. It is West Indian in origin, but is popular in several European and American countries. In the Roman Catholic Church, beguine is a member of an order of a lay sisterhood in the Low Countries, who is not bound by vows. The order is named after a 12th century priest Lambert Bègue or "le Bègue'' (the Stammerer).
