Beijing

Beijing, formerly known as Peking, is the capital city of China. It is situated in the northeastern part of the country. The city became the capital of the country in 1421 at the start of the Ming rule. It remained the capital of the Republic of China even after the revolution of 1912, and formation of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
