Belladonna

Belladonna is a deadly nightshade, and also the drug prepared from its leaves and root. The drug belladonna contains atropine. This plant derives its name perhaps from use of its juice by women to add brilliance to their eyes by dilating the pupils. 'Bella donna' in Italian means 'fair lady'.
