Benedict XVI

Benedict XVI (1927 — ), born Joseph Alois Ratzinger, is a German cleric, who served as pope of the Roman Catholic Church at the Vatican city from 2005 to 2013. He is the first pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415. He holds the status of "pope emeritus" after his resignation in 2013, citing his diminishing strength.
