Berkelium

Berkelium, symbol Bk, is a chemical element of atomic number 97. It is a radioactive metal of the actinide series. It is named after Berkeley, a city in California, a state in the United States, where it was first made. It does not occur in nature. This element was first made by bombarding americium with helium ions in a laboratory.
