Bhutatma

Bhutatma, literally the soul of the dead, is also an epithet of the Hindu trinity of gods - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Such an epithet was given by the Advaitvadins, who believe in the philosophy that the Atma, lit. the soul, and Parmatma lit. the God, are not two but one. Thus the name bhut for the soul, became an epithet for the Soul, the Supreme God.

Such philosophers believe in one Supreme God; and Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva) are not different entities but merely the three aspects - the Creator, the Maintainer, and the Destroyer - of the God.
