Bimbisar

Bimbisar was a king of ancient north India who ascended to the throne about 545 BC and ruled Magadh, a small kingdom of the Gangetic plains. He built a new capital at Rajagriha, now known as Rajgir in the state of Bihar in India.

He was contemporary of Gautam Buddha.
