Bioflavonoid

Bioflavonoid is any of a group of compounds, a class of polyphenolic secondary metabolites, naturally occurring in citrus fruits and black currants. Bioflavonoids were formerly regarded as vitamins. However, the health claims have now become debatable. Food and Drug Administrations (FDAs) of many countries have not approved them as prescription drugs, and numerous dietary supplement companies have been warned by the US FDA about illegal advertising and misleading health claims.
