Biogenetic law

Biogenetic law is a term in biology and genetics for one of the recapitulation theories which says that evolutionary stages of an animal are repeated during development and growth of an embryo. This theory of development and evolution was proposed by a German biologist Ernst Haeckel in the 1860s.
