Biraj Deb was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. Born May 1915, Komilla, Bangladesh, s/o Late Ishwar Chandra Dey. Joined Shree Sangha Group. Arrested on 13th March 1933. sentenced to transportation for life for 20 and 25 years respectively. Prison term to run concurrently. Deported to the Andamans. Took part in second hunger strike and also the Alipore Jail hunger strike in 1939 July for 36 days. Repatriated in January 1938 and released in August 1946.Total jail period 14 years.
