Birkenstock

Birkenstock is a term derived from a trademark of shoes and sandals which in turn was derived in the 1970s from the name of a US company that manufactured them having cork filled soles and thick leather upper. The word then used to refer to the people who were concerned with conservationist issues and political correctness.
