Black

Black is a colour, a pigment, that is how we traditionally understand it. It is opposite of white. However, in physics it is no colour, it is just a phenomenon of complete absorption of light on the surface of something due to which no light is reflected and we see complete darkness, which we refer to as black. Someone or something is called black if, in the traditional sense of the term, they are black in appearance.
