Black cherry

Black cherry is a bitter blackish fruit and the tree that bears it. The fruit is sometimes used for jellies, but chiefly eaten by wild animals and bird. It is a large North American cherry tree. Its wood is hard, close-grained, and valuable. It belongs to the family Rosaceae. Prunus serotina is its botanical name.
