Black currant

Black currant, also blackcurrant, is a small, round, and edible fruit, and the shrub that bears it. It grows in loose hanging clusters. It's a kind of black berry of the genus Ribes, and the family Grossulariaceae. Ribes nigrum is one of its several species which is a widely cultivated variety.
