Blackleg

Blackleg is an infectious disease of cattle and sheep. At times it can become acute. It is caused by a bacteria Clostridium chauvoei, and causes necrosis in one or more legs.
A strikebreaker is referred to as a blackleg, but in this sense the term is derogatory.
