Bleak

Bleak is a shoaling fish of the Eurasian rivers. It is small in size and silvery in colour. It belong to the minnow family. Two genera of this fish are found — Alburnus and Chalcalburnus. They belong to the zoological family Cyprinidae. Alburnus alburnus is notable among its several species.

The term bleak is also used to refer to a cold and forbidding behaviour of a person, a dismal prospect, a dreary unattractive building, or an area lacking vegetation.
