Blessed

Blessed is someone having a divine favour conferred upon, made holy with a religious rite, or something consecrated. The term is also used as a title preceding the name of a dead person considered holy, such as the Blessed St Augustine. Sometimes we use this term in reference to a dead person to pay our respect, such as in blessed memory of someone. Someone is said to be blessed with something if those things are much cherished ones, such as blessed with a son.
