Blond
Blond or blonde originally used in French, which was derived from the medieval Latin 'blundus' which meant 'yellow'. Thus the term came to refer to hair having fair or pale yellow colour and then the person having such hair. Blond was used as masculine while blonde as feminine. However, by 1970s the term blond was in use as gender-neutral. The term is also used as racial distinction for someone having blond hair and light complexion. A person having fair hair and skin is also called blond, but it is considered today offensive to call a person blond, because colour of the hair is not a person. A wood or substance is also called blond if it is light in colour or tone.Nearby pages
