Bloodwood

Bloodwood is a timber of deep red colour, or any of the hardwood trees that yields such timber, such as the Australian gum tree of the genus Eucalyptus and the family Myrtaceae. Eucalyptus gummifera is one of the most popular among its several species. There is another Old World tree by this name which belongs to the genus Pterocarpus and the Leguminosae family.
