Blowfly

Blowfly is a large fly. It is typically metallic in colour. It lays eggs in woulds of living animals, meat, carcasses, dung etc. The name is given to any of numerous dipterous insects of the family Calliphoridae, including the bluebottle. It belongs to the genus Calliphora and related genera.
