Blue-tongued skink

Blue-tongued skink, also called blue-tongued lizard, is a skink having a blue tongue. It has a large head and short limbs. It displays its tongue in defense as a bluff-warning to potential enemies. They are relatively shy in comparison with other lizards, and also significantly slower due to their short legs. It belongs to the genus Tiliqua , and the Scincidae family. Tiliqua scincoides, one of its several species, is often kept as a pet.
