Bluegrass

Bluegrass is the short name for Kentucky bluegrass. This bluish-green grass is widely grown for fodder in Kentucky and Virginia, the states in the United States. It was introduced in the North America from northern Europe.

Bluegrass is also name of a kind of country music traditionally played on acoustic stringed instruments unlike mainstream country music. It is characterized by virtuosic playing of banjos and guitars with high-pitched and close-harmony vocals. It was developed in the 1940s in the United States, and was influenced by jazz and blues.
