Board

Board is a thin and flat piece of wood or any other material, typically long and rectangular. These are used in building or flooring. In theatre, the stage is informally called the boards. Notice boards are hung on walls on which notices are hung or written. Black boards or white boards are used in classrooms for teacher to write on. Chopping boards are horizontally placed boards to cut things on. Playing board is also horizontally placed to play on. Electronic board are the circuits and insulating boards are flat sheets of insulating material. In sports, such as surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding etc, board is the flat piece of equipment for players to stand on. There are also card boards used for binding books.

A group of officials as a decision-making body is also called a board, such as a board of directors.
