Bobby

Bobby is an informal term for a police officer, and a nickname for Robert. It is also a given name of Sir Robert, the British Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel (1788 — 1850). During his tenure as home secretary, he had established the Metropolitan Police, whose member is informally called bobby in his honour.
