Body

Body is the physical structure of an animal or a human being. Though it includes everything from toes to head — the bones, flesh and organs — the word is sometimes used only for the trunk, and the limbs and the head are treated separately, such as in the expression 'head and limbs are cut from the body'.

The term is not only used for the physical structure of someone live but also for someone dead, or also for image, sculpture or toy. Not only this, the main physical structure of even vehicles, such as a car, is called its body. The central part of anything is also called its body, such as the body of a text or building.

A group of people or officials as an organisational unit is also called a body, such as a legislative body.
