Body louse

Body louse is a louse of a kind infesting the human body. It is a small wingless insect, having mouth parts adapted for sucking, and parasitic on humans especially when one lives with poor hygiene. It is known for its ability to transmit several diseases through its bites, including typhus. Pediculus humanus humanus is its zoological name, and it belongs to the order Anoplura, and the family Pediculidae.
