Bohemian

Bohemian is someone, especially a native or inhabitant, of Bohemia. Something from, of, or relating to Bohemia region or its people is also referred to as Bohemian.

In the mid 19th century France, a Gypsy was called "bohemien", because the Gypsies were coming form the West and people in France believed that they were entering into to country through Bohemia. It is from their habits the term bohemian is derived and the name bohemian is then given to someone who lives by his wits and shuns conventionality, that is having informal and unconventional social habits. This term is especially applied to a writer or an artist having unusual social habits.
