Botany Bay

Botany Bay is an inlet in New South Wales, Australia, located 5 miles South of Sydney. It was discovered by Captain Cook in 1770. It is so called, by Sir Joseph Banks, from the variety and beauty of its flora. It was once an English convict settlement.
