Brahma Puran

Brahma Puran is one of the 18 puranas compiled by the sage Vyas. It is also called Adi Puran because of its being the first among the paranas. The story of the text is related by Brahma the god of creation to Marichi which gives an account of the process of creation, the Manvantars, and the history of the solar and lunar kings up to the time of Krishna followed by a brief description of the universe. The short detail about the life of Krishna is preceded by the glories of Odisha, its sacred groves and temples dedicated to Surya, Shiva, and Jagannath. At the end there are details about the performance of Yog.

It is said that there were 10,000 verses in this Hindu mythology, however, the modern scholars maintain that the actual number of stanzas were around 7-8 thousand.
