Brahmacharya Ashram

Brahmacharya Ashram is the first among the four ashramas in the Hindu way of life. It is the first stage of life which ends after a student marries to form a family to enter the second stage of life which is called Grihastha Ashram. During Brahmacharya Ashram, a student is supposed to observe celibacy and pass his days in humble and obedient attendance upon his Guru (lit. the teacher).

In ancient India, the Gurus were spiritual preceptors who used to teach all sorts of knowledge and skills. They taught not only the spirituality but also the warfare.
