Brihadrath
Brihadrath was a king of Magadh, an ancient kingdom of India, mentioned in the Mahabharata. He was the son of king Uparichar and the father of Jarasandh. Brihadrath married the two daughters of the king of Kashi but for a long time he did not have any child. When the urge of a child grew in the husband and wives, they decided to consult a sage Chandakaushik. The sage, after hearing the worries of Brihadrath, gave him a fruit and asked him to give his wife to eat. He returned with the fruit, cut in halves, and gave them to his two wives. After some time both the wives gave birth to only half a baby. The two halves were joined together to make one. It was a baby boy who came to be known as Jarasandh.
