Buhl

Buhl is an ornamental work for furniture, which takes its name from the inventor, consisted in piercing or inlaying metal with tortoise-shell or enamel, or with metals of another colour. It was much in fashion in Louis XIV's (1638 – 1715) reign (1643 - 1715).
