Buxar
Buxar is a district in the State of Bihar in India. Buxar town is the headquarter of the district and also its principal town. The district is bounded on the north by Ballia district of U.P., on the south by Rohtas district, on the west by Ghazipur and Ballia districts of U.P. and on the east by Bhojpur district. It is situated between 25 degree 34 minute North and 83 degree 58 minute East.According to census 2011 population of the district was 17,06,352 and area 1,703 sq km.
Buxar district consist of 2 Sub-division - Buxar, Dumraon, and 11 Blocks - Buxar, Dumraon, Simari, Brahmpur, Rajpur, Itarhi, Nawanagar, Chaungain, Chausa, Chakki, Kesath.
Paddy, Wheat, Maize, Sugar Cane are the major agriculture crops. Rice and Oil Mills are the major industries. Ganga and Karmnasha are the major rivers.
The district came into being in 1991.
