C. W. Stubbs

C. W. Stubbs (1845-1912), full name Charles William Stubbs, was an English clergyman, born in Liverpool. He held several incumbencies and was rector at Wavertree, near Liverpool. He took a great interest in the working-classes and in social subjects. He was liberal both in his political and in his theological opinions. He wrote on questions of the day in a Christian reference. He ultimately became Bishop of Truro.
