Cambay

Cambay, popular modern name Khambhat is a town and seaport North of Bombay (Mumbai), on a gulf of the same name, in Anand district in Gujarat. The seaport suffered fast silting up in the past, in consequence of which the place, once a flourishing port, has fallen into decay.
