Candace Pert

Candace Pert (1946-2013), full name Candace Beebe Pert, was a US biochemist discovered opiate receptor at the age of 26, the breakthrough that led to later discovery of body's natural opiates and ushered in a new era in neuroscience. She is also known for research on workings of human mind.
