Capacitive Accelerometer
Capacitive accelerometers are among the most commercially popular Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). They are used in engine vibration tests, product shakers, fatigue testing, structural evaluation and a host of other applications. A Capacitive Accelerometer operates on the premise that, there is a repeatable change in capacitance whenever a sensing structure gets deflected due to an imposed acceleration. A Capacitive Accelerometer is similar in operation to a Piezoresistive Accelerometer but is comparatively more sensitive. Some of the notable features of Capacitive Accelerometers are excellent frequency coverage, high level output signal and immunity to noise interference et al.
