CAPE HORN

CAPE HORN, a black, steep, frowning rock at the SE. extremity of the Fuegean Islands. It was much dreaded at one time by sailors.

It is the most southern point of America, is a lofty, precipitous, and barren promontory of Hermit Island, in the Fuegian Archipelago.
