Carson McCullers

Carson McCullers (1917-1967) was a US writer, novelist, and playwright. She also wrote short stories, but was known mainly for developing a style of writing called Southern Gothic marked by unusual characters. She authored a couple of famous books including The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, The Member of the Wedding, and The Ballad of the Sad Cafe and Other Stories.
