Chitrangad
Chitrangad was the elder son of king Shantanu and the queen Satyavati, and brother of Vichitravirya. It is mentioned in the Mahabharata that Bhishma installed him on the throne when Shantanu died. The Mahabharata relates that he had too high an opinion about himself. He had exaggerated sense of self-importance and thought too highly of himself considering even above the Devas, not to talk about Asuras. He thought nobody equal to him. There was also a king of Gandharvas having the same name who became hostile to his idea of superiority. Therefore, he challenged him for a battle, which was fought at Kurukshetra on the banks of the river Sarasvati. The battle ended after three years when Chitrangad the son of king Shantanu was slain by the Chitrangad the king of Gandharvas.
