Chitrarath

Chitrarath was a king of Gandharvas in Hindu mythology. He was one of the sixteen sons of Kashyap by his wife Muni. The god of wealth Kuber was his very good friend. Kumbhinasi was his wife. One night, Chitrarath and Kumbhinasi were bathing in a river at night. Arjun was passing by the spot saw them bathing. It violated their privacy which angered Chitrarath. Then a duel ensued between Arjun and Chitrarath. Chitrarath was defeated. Arjun took him to his brothers. However, he was set free by Yuddhishthir the eldest brother of Arjun on the plea of Kumbhanasi. Thereafter, Chitrarath became friend of the Pandava brothers. He gave them an advise to make the sage Dhaumya their family priest. He also gave them many horses and knowledge of some celestial weapons to Arjun.
