Cilician Gates

Cilician Gates is a name given to the pass in Turkey across Mount Taurus by which Alexander the Great entered Cilicia. It is also called Gülek Pass. It connects the low plains of Cilicia to the Anatolian Plateau, by way of the narrow gorge of the Gökoluk River.
