Cleombrotus
Cleombrotus, also referred to as Cleombrotus of Ambracia, was a philosopher of Epirus. He was mentioned in Plato's "Phaedon" as one of the two young men notably absent when Socrates drank the hemlock (399 BC). Later tradition added that he was so fascinated with Plato's "Phædon" that he leapt into the sea in the expectation that he would thereby exchange this life for a better.Nearby pages
