Cleomenes

Cleomenes was an Athenian sculptor, who, as appears from an inscription on the pedestal, executed the statue of the Venus de Medici towards 220 B.C. The famous marble sculpture bears on its base an inscription in Greek which translates as ‘Cleomenes son of Apollodorus’.
