Cockney

Cockney is a dialect. This is a branch of English spoken in the East End of London. It derives its name from the group of people who are called cockneys. They are the working class people. Its meaning is one born and bred in London, and knowing little or nothing beyond it, and betraying his limits by his ideas, manners, and accent.

Other people of the area also use this dialect in their day to day communication, especially when communication with the cockney speaking people.

This dialect contains several distinctive traits that are known to many English speakers.
