Consuelo

Consuelo is the heroine of French novelist George Sand's (1804 – 1876) novel of the same name first published during 1842–1843 when it was serialized. It was her masterpiece, chiefly known for the impersonation of the triumph of moral purity over manifold temptations. She was even more renowned than either Victor Hugo or Honoré de Balzac in England during the 1830s and 1840s
