Corbulo

Corbulo (c. AD 7 – 67), full name Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, was a distinguished general under Claudius and Nero, who conquered the Parthians. He was a popular Roman general, brother-in-law of the emperor Caligula and father-in-law of Domitian. Nero, being jealous of him, invited him to Corinth, where he found a death-warrant awaiting him, upon which he plunged his sword into his breast and exclaimed, "Well deserved!"
