Count Fuentes
Count Fuentes (1566-1643), full name Paul-Bernard de Fontaines, also known as Comtefontaine or Conde Fontana, was a Spanish general and statesman, eminent both in war and diplomacy. He commanded the Spanish infantry at the siege of Rocroi when he was eighty-two, borne on a litter in the midst of the fight, and perished by the sword, the Great Condé (1621 – 1686) having attacked the besiegers.Nearby pages
