Count von Pappenheim
Count von Pappenheim (1594-1632), also Gottfried Heinrich, count zu Pappenheim, was a German imperial general, born in Bavaria. He played a prominent part in the Thirty Years' War. He was distinguished for his zeal as well as his successes on the Catholic side. He was mortally wounded at Lützen, expressed his gratitude to God when he learned that Gustavas Adolphus, who fell in the same battle, had died before him.Nearby pages
