Cratippus

Cratippus (1 Century BC), also known as Cratippus of Pergamon, was a Roman Peripatetic philosopher of Mytilene, contemporary of Pompey (106 BC - 48 BC) and Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC). He soothed the sunken spirit of the former after the defeat at Pharsalia with the consolations of philosophy. Cratippus accompanied Pompey in his flight after the Battle of Pharsalia.
